toast用法

toast可以用作动词

toast的基本意思是“烤”,指把食物(甚至一整只动物)放在火上或火旁烤黄、脆、熟,也可指用烘箱烤鱼肉、面包等。引申可表示“烤火”。

toast还可表示“为…干杯”,指为某些高兴的事或某事的成功而举杯祝贺。

toast可用作及物动词,也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时,接名词或代词作宾语。也可接以形容词充当补足语的复合宾语。用作不及物动词时,主动形式可含有被动意义。
